USA: Adidas Predator boots Kristine Lilly to benefit Olympics
Adidas announced the launch of 100 pairs of limited edition adidas Predator Kristine Lilly boots that will benefit Special Olympics.
The shoe is designed by Lilly herself and debut them during competition at the World 2007 FIFA Women's Cup in China next week. 100% of the proceeds from boot sales will benefit Special Olympics, helping people with disabilities develop intellectual self-confidence, social skills and a sense of personal accomplishment through sports and training.
"The game Football has given me so much, so I wanted to turn, "said U.S. National Women's team captain Kristine Lilly." I have joined Adidas create a limited edition Predator boot, with all proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics and its athletes. "
An Olympic gold medal in 1996 and 2004, Lilly is nicknamed in the world "Iron Woman." She is the first and only player, male or female, to play in more than 300 international matches and has won more than 324 caps, 121 goals and 95 assists.
"Lilly was one of the greatest women to ever play football," said Antonio Zea, adidas America Soccer Business Director. "With over 300 caps and her upcoming fifth World Cup, we wanted to honor her and all that leads to the sport of football."
"In doing so, it was important for both the proceeds of this limited edition Predator will help Special Olympics athletes."
The 100 pairs of limited edition boots are designed and inspired by Lilly. Personal touches include her motto, "Always Believe" and number 13 embroidered in the language.
To commemorate its fifth World Cup appearance, included the 2007 FIFA World Women and the logo of the cup 10 to 30 September 2007 Written at the bottom of the boot sole. A U.S. flag is embroidered on the heel to represent his pride in his team and country.
