The Audi TT - a high-end sports car
Manufactured by the automaker renowned and prestigious German Audi, the TT version has been a success since it became available in the market. The Audi TT is classified as a sports car and is available as a two-seater roadster or a coupe 2 +2. The development of this high-quality vehicle goes back to 1994 and the main concepts were brainstormed at the Audi design Center in California.
A years later (1995), the Audi TT was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept car and amazingly enough after being thoroughly examined the project received the green light to start production, most of the original design and concept remained intact which is something very rare among concept vehicles. At the moment there have been two generations developed, let's take a look at them.
First generation:
This original vehicle was launched as a coupe in 1998 and the two-seater roadster version was introduced to the market a year later (1999) - the role of engine in this generation was a 1.8L I4 Turbo, 3.2L VR6, the transmission configuration is available as a five-speed manual or automatic and a six-speed automatic or DSG.
The first few claimed TT media coverage and were put on the spot light because of high-speed accidents in Europe, accidents resulting in death occurred at speeds exceeding 110 km per hour, this trigger a memory of the two versions within this generation in order to improve the management of high speeds.
Second-generation
As expected generations later, the Audi TT (8J) You have a beautiful and refined design that was first introduced in the Tokyo Motor Show 2005 as a concept vehicle, the body style shows a two-door hatchback. Later, the Audi 2006, announced the second generation that is built with aluminum front and steel in the rear, this was done in order to improve balance and handling performance of this vehicle is also available in front or wheel drive.
According to their performance and design features of the second generation vehicle came into the Car and Driver magazine Top 10 list for 2000 and 2001 - was awarded several other prices and titles as well.
