Bicycle safety and bicycle helmet helmet laws for children
By teaching the youngest to ride a bike, please do not forget the importance of bicycle helmet. As adult education, you must wear a helmet. Why feel the need to wear a helmet when they do not?
Although teens do not have to wear helmets by law (http://www.iihs.org/laws/mapbicyclehelmets.aspx Check out the law in your state,) to be dead.
My children were never allowed to ride without a helmet at any age, one family rule that resulted in numerous clashes during their formative years of adolescence. My son was one shot, even by the police on several occasions, and awarded with a coupon for free ice cream cone for wearing a helmet. How devastating for a young man of 14 years! His friends do not have to wear a helmet and was mortified to be the only one who did.

The "typical" bicyclist killed on our roads is a sober male over 16 not wearing a helmet riding on a main road intersections in an urban area of a summer night when it is beaten by a car.
About 540,000 bicyclists visit emergency rooms with injuries every years. Of these, about 67,000 have head injuries, and 27,000 have injuries serious enough to be hospitalized.
helmeted riders are 14 times more likely to be involved in a fatal crash than helmeted riders.
If your child learns to ride a motorcycle and part of that lesson includes the fact that they must use a helmet, they will realize that this is part of cycling forever. Being cool is not enough of a trade-off compared to the risks of not wearing a helmet.
