AUSTIN

Austin Town Lake is undoubtedly the perfect place to paddle. The six miles of water is dammed at both ends, so there is no strong current. The climate is temperate year round, so you never stop rowing, in fact winter is the favorite time of the row between the local oarsmen, and spring breakers. No boats or watercraft allowed (except for the launch of the coaches) so there is no need to worry about the wake.

Rowing Dock is a privately owned, rowing club and privately owned boat rental service located at the west end of Town Lake. Here the water is calm and lush banks to create a serene environment. It is easily accessible from MoPac and downtown, and offers ample parking. Rowing Dock spring opening an assistant is on duty throughout the year during the busy schedule to help customers with boats. With the test of skill and membership of any recognized club, the city can rent rowing boat recreational single sculls. Other users may rent from a selection of single, double kayaks or triple or quadruple water cycles. Visit the website or call for hours.

Austin Rowing Club is a nonprofit run by an elected council. It houses the two races important in Austin every year. They offer sweep rowing and rowing. ARC is located in downtown Austin, near the Four Seasons Hotel, if you get the right time of the row, can enjoy the evening bat flight Bridge Congress, which can be seen from ARC.

BOSTON

Boston and Cambridge are common with the history of oar. Nine boathouses line the Charles River. Four belong to the clubs: Union, Riverside, Cambridge, and Community Rowing. Five belong to universities: MIT, Boston University, Harvard, Radcliffe, and the Northeast. Paradores of rowing can be difficult depending on the club contact since some clubs require sponsorship of a member. Cygnet Rowing Club, with two locations boathouse, offers hourly rental single sculls.

Dividing Boston and Cambridge, Charles River water is an elegant serpentine belt varying in width from 200 yards over a mile. During warm weather, and time but not very hot, is alive with all kinds of rowing boats, sailing, kayaks, "duck" boats, excursion boats and power yachts. CHICAGO

Visitors to Chicago are surprised to discover how beautiful this city - with its sparkling lake, world-class architecture, and incredible cultural attractions. For rowers, an additional source of astonishment is the experience of rowing on the Chicago River in the heart of a great American metropolis.

LOS ANGELES

Sunny Los Angeles offers a lot of great things to the rowers, with the best being the opportunity to paddle year round. There are very few days of each year when the weather keeps you from getting a great workout. The rowers are lucky Angeles row in the largest port by boat on the little man in the world, a place called Marina del Rey. Marine waters are well protected, allowing paddle on flat water almost every morning. A head race of three miles is organized by the California Yacht Club each fall, which is a loop around the Marina. More beyond oar, are tons of attractions and outdoor activities will be in Los Angeles, with numerous hotels and restaurants near the water (and about LAX, which is just minutes from Marina del Rey).

MIAMI

Miami Beach Rowing is a unique experience. The sheltered waterways of Indian Creek, the scene ideal for training, a few steps away from the beachfront hotels affordable. Guests are welcome and can be rented per hour, provided they have paddling experience. For winter training, Miami Beach is the place to be. Escape to the warm waters of Biscayne Bay and enjoy panoramic views of tropical islands palms and spectacular sunsets. While rowing at dawn, waiting to be accompanied by some playful dolphins, which are often a few meters from our dock. Miles flat water rowing throughout the year and a convenient location are the reasons Miami Beach called paddler's paradise.

The Centre is within walking distance of many restaurants in Norman, a local sports bar and delicious small ethnic restaurants. On weekends, the village of Normandy sells Farmers Market delicious smoothies and fresh fruit, vegetables and many other items. Only ten minutes away is the vibrant South Beach Art Deco District with shops, restaurants, cinemas and nightlife.

PHILADELPHIA

Philadelphia was one of the original cities of U.S. Rowing. It is home to the infamous Boathouse Row and is home to hundreds of rowers / as. On any given day of the week, you can find many fishing boats ranging from club rowers high school students to collegiate rowers. Philadelphia is home to dozens of races each year, including Dad Vail Regatta, Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the Independence Day Regatta and the Head of the Schuylkill. Remo in Philadelphia is truly an experience that could be felt in very few cities in the U.S..

SITES OF INTEREST

Philadelphia is full of a wide range historical sites, museums and interactive centers. One of the most famous is the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The staircase leading to the exact rose in the movie Rocky Rocky. There is also the Franklin Institute, which has a variety of activities and an IMAX theater. The Philadelphia Zoo is only five minutes from Boathouse Row. And you can not visit to Philadelphia, birthplace of Independence, without visiting the Liberty Bell.

SAN DIEGO

Rowing San Diego is more or less located in Mission Bay, about six miles north of San Diego airport, and flanked by Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. Surrounded restaurants, beaches and bay boardwalks, and hotels. San Diego Rowing Club is located in Mission Beach, with ZLAC Rowing Club located in Pacific Beach. In general, due to water-skiers, most of rowing is done in the early hours or at dusk, but there are plenty of water, and the ever-changing landscape, with sanctuaries bird feathers World Sea local marine life.

San Diego has it all, and most of it a few miles from the airport and the rowing clubs, from Seaworld (train crew beyond the local shows and penguins), Belmont Park (with an original wooden coaster, swimming pool and amusement park, right on the beach) and Old Town (historical area that specializes in specialty shops and restaurants TIP, make lunch, afternoon waiting times can be a drag if you're really hungry); Balboa Park has museums, restaurants and world famous San Diego Zoo, or you can head north to the Birch Aquarium at UCSD's campus. A little further you can go Wild Animal Park or Legoland (40 minutes north) or south of Tijuana, Mexico (20 minutes by car, 30 minutes by tram from San Diego). You can find out Legoland shopping or the last U.S. exit San Ysidro (large purchases of all major sports shoe companies, in addition to Levi and the usual suspects). Interested in wildlife human? Check out Garnet Street in Pacific Beach or downtown Gaslamp District.

SEATTLE

Seattle Rowing is rather mystical. Rowers often begin their day with the launch while looking at the top of Mount Rainier, and seeing the reflection of the crack of dawn on the horizon City at a glance. Then there are a lot of water to choose from, all of which have a different taste and feel. An address can take paddlers a navigation channel to the Puget Sound (Insurance) where barges, boats and large fishing vessels along the coast. Rowing on Lake Union offers the opportunity to see the impressive silhouette City of Seattle. Turn north of Lake Union and Portage Bay is home to many houseboats up and down on the water. The Montlake Cut, or "cutting" as it is known, connects through Puget Sound to Lake Washington Insurance. Once through the cut, Husky rowers usually inhabit this area. Rowing on Lake Washington offers spectacular views of the Olympic Mountain range and Mount Rainier.

Rowers can go out every day of the year. Inclement weather and few far between, through a constant mild winter rain is common. When the sun rises, is probably one of the most spectacular urban landscapes rowing.

SITES INTEREST

Seattle is composed of twenty-six of which all neighborhoods have their own character and charm. Fremont, near Lake Washington Rowing Club is a funky / artistic neighborhood full of boutiques, restaurants and pubs. In Fremont, you can visit the famous fairy affecting a Volkswagen that lives under the bridge of the Aurora or rocket that is stuck in a building or statue of people waiting for the bus.

A few miles from Fremont is another neighborhood called Ballard. In Ballard, it is still possible to hear Swedish and Norwegian spoken in the streets. Ballard traditionally housed the Seattle fishing industry, which was dominated by Scandinavian immigrants. If you want fresh fish market, this is the place to go.

North of the University District is the Greenlake neighborhood. This lake has a huge popularity for a walk or biking / skating path around the lake (about 3 miles). The north side of Greenlake has some coffee shops and a wonderful house big fish soup.

Capitol Hill is the gay / lesbian / artistic part of Seattle. It is known for its nightlife and strip clubs fashion houses. Best coffee in Seattle also can have on Capitol Hill, at the Espresso Vivace.

The downtown area of Seattle has one of the open-air markets famous: Pike Place. This market is known for its flying fish, crafts, food, cakes and shopping. Virtually anywhere you go in Seattle, there is something totally different and unique.

WASHINGTON, DC

Rowing in the nation's capital dates back to 1800. The oldest boat club in Washington, DC Potomac Boat Club (circa 1869), is rather more of one hundred thirty years. Thompson Boat Center, a public school located in a river half-mile from the Potomac Boat Club hosts the majority of high school and collegiate programs rowing in the area. Thompson Boat Center, people can rent single sculls per hour, provided they can prove they have experience in rowing. Capital Rowing Club, located next to the Navy Yard in Southeast DC, the rows on the banks of the Anacostia River, and offers opportunities for rowing results. Perhaps best rowing in DC is able to see many of the attractions of the coast, like the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and Arlington Cemetery to name a few.

Obviously the tourist attractions are numerous in Washington, DC, but a couple of sites near Potomac Boat Center Thompson Boat Club and include the Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington Cemetery, the National Cathedral, a large number of monuments in and around the Smithsonian, and walking and shopping in historic Georgetown, Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. If you're in the neighborhood of Capital Rowing Club, a nice place to visit weekend is the Eastern Market, an outdoor crafts and food market has been in existence for over 100 years. It is just opposite the metro station of this market.

A nice place for lunch or dinner right on the Potomac River is Tony & Joe or Sequoia in Washington Harbor in Georgetown. In good weather, These restaurants are full at weekends and are great places for people watching.
