Forms of Brazing Alloys
brazing alloy or filler metal is the metal used to join two dissimilar metals via the welding process. Filler metal is the metal that goes into the space between the two metals being joined, it melts in there and then flows through the bonding surface before it goes through welding. This makes it a strong bond between two dissimilar metals. It is very similar to welding and welding, but different than those processes in many respects. The three processes have different advantages, disadvantages and therefore different applications.
Returning to weld metal alloys or the taxpayer, the choice of welding alloys differs from metal to metal. Baseline characteristics of metal must be matched by the filler metal properties of metals to ensure they are chemically compatible. This is important for two reasons. One security in brazing. Two, to achieve the desired outcomes of the process. Brazing alloys are commonly used aluminum nickel, steel, titanium , copper, brass, etc.
Like the careful selection of the properties, choose the appropriate form of brazing alloys is also of key importance. brazing alloys are available in very few ways that are useful in brazing dissimilar metals. To help out the brazing of different types of metals, different forms of welding alloys namely - dust, bars, sheets and wires. Other forms available are rings and discs.
The choice of filler material as well as the appropriate way depends on the base metals used for the application of welding and shape of the edges unite. Use different ways to fit into place between the gap. For, example the wire, strip and fed to the bar are the face, where as used paste solder alloy because of its ease of application in complex forms of the joints. Similarly using a powder alloy is also just with limitations on the shape of the joint.
