Strengths:
- The Martin Yale 1601 paper folder is designed to times in both letter and legal size paper in a number of different patterns folding. It is specifically designed to create five different folds, including the letter: double, half the time, double parallel fold, and sometimes a right angle also known as a double cross. Although designed specifically for use with letter and legal size sheets can also accept such small sizes as 3.5 "x 5" and as large as 8.5 "x 14". You can also make custom folding patterns to meet your specific needs.
- The 1601 has a feed tray that accepts up to 150 sheets of paper at once. The tray design should mean that no fanning of the work is necessary, which is an advantage. Many paper folding machines in this price range require you to display the document in order to feed properly since. This can be tricky and if not done correctly the folder can not feed the sheets correctly. The 1601 does not have this problem.
- The Martin Yale 1601 is fast. It can double up to a maximum of 9,000 sheets per hour. This means that most of the jobs of a few hundreds of letters can be completed in one or two minutes at full speed.
Autofolder 1601 also has a manual feed bypass that allows you to feed stapled sets of up to four pages in the machine by hand. This is convenient for folding the statements of several pages and newsletters.
Weaknesses / Limitations:
- The Martin Yale Autofolder 1601 is a manual setup paper folding machine. This simply means that in order to change folding patterns or size of paper you have to manually adjust the position and shape of the plates times. It can be difficult to ensure that your dishes are sometimes placed squarely complete and that the paper stop in the correct position. Users who need to frequently change folding patterns or have operators that are not mechanically inclined can take a folder automatic installation of the paper, as the Martin Yale 1701.
- The Autofolder 1601 is designed to handle the uncoated paper stock aged between 16 pounds and 28 pounds of bonds. Not compatible with heavy card stock, glossy paper and coated sheets. glossy or heavy materials can cause jams and paper jams if you try to use with the folding machine.
- The Martin Yale 1601 is ideal for use with letter size (8.5 "x 11") and legal size paper (8.5 "x 14") sheets. However, it is not compatible with the large sheet sizes including 11 "x 17". If your organization need to fold larger sheets of 8.75 "x 14" will have to consider a paper folding machine larger.
Recommendation:
- Autofolder The Martin Yale 1601 is an ideal machine for small and medium organizations or mail rooms used primarily a type of folding pattern.
- This machine is designed for moderate use in an enterprise environment and should hold up well over time.
- However, this machine is not designed for use in high volume industrial applications. Do not use for folding heavy stocks or coated papers and can not accept large sheets sizes. This does not mean it is a good candidate for use by commercial printers, bookbinding or large mail processing organizations.
