What is a Medium Voltage (MV) AC inverter (variable frequency)?
Do not feel bad about being confused by "medium voltage drives" terminology. It is a confusion because it sounds like a technical term, but is actually driven marketing. In fact, there are two terms that can be confusing for someone new to the field Automatic control of electric motors.
Let's start with the word "unity." Also sometimes called an inverter, a unit is essentially a power amplifier that puts consumption of electricity by an electric motor based on torque and / or the speed demanded by the driver, a team digital control task of the system.
