Choosing a Fountain Pen Fine Quality
For the average person feathers are simply a tool used to write something. For someone who is a pen collector or lover of the feathers has a special meaning for them. If you've ever been able to have on hand a good or a Sheaffer pen Cruz understand that no compared with a typical ball point pen. To have a good quality pen shows that you have impeccable taste and quality. So how to choose quality pen?
First you need to understand the history of the pen. The fact that the only way to writing was with a pencil or pen did not possess any type of ink that offers the innovations made by manufacturers of pen. Most of the best developments in pen design and use happened after 1900. There are now three types of pens: fountain pens, dip pens and pencils.
Fountain pens has a tip that a small piece of metal that can be made of steel, gold or gold alloy. It will be diamond shaped with a point for you to write. Also there's a feed you press the tip and allow the ink inside the pen to flow down on paper. It should provide a good steady flow even that does not leak. You can find many name brand pens with fancy designs or limited editions. The price range varies from a few dollars to many thousands. There are even vintage collections you may be interested in that are no longer manufactured, but still in original form and packaging.
Many feathers were used for calligraphy and special written documentation. In the past it was very difficult to recharge the ink in the pen. We had to carry around with ink to write. Many were very messy and filtered from the pen or do not have much ink at all. At present there are cartridges that are included in the feathers that many alleviate this problem.
Immersion feathers match the description. You have to continue to dip the pen in an inkstand, writing. You are considered a person of great importance if there was a fountain pen Luxury or dip in their possession. Today feathers are purchased and purchases of luxuries and not necessities.
If you decide that owning of a fountain pen is a good condition then you should appear outside of your price range and what kind of design you want. Many companies offer pens over a base color so it might be able to get anything more than basic black. The next thing to is to decide on your choice of tip. If you want a superior quality then do not want a massive steel nib. Try something with 18-karat gold and a special engraving.
