Family Holidays in France Cycling
Cyclists of all levels can expect some fantastic scenery while on a cycling holiday in France along with experiencing traditional French cuisine in the many hotels that stops in his travels through the scenic countryside.
France is a country that is excited about cycling, as we are all no doubt well aware with the Tour de France, and have always so easy to explore the countryside and the city on two wheels, rails and dedicated bike routes around it.
Cycling holidays will give you peace and tranquility with spectacular views of landscapes, castles, medieval towns, hills, valleys and these are just some of the things that can easily be lost on whether they were driving through France, and the rich heritage, extraordinary landscapes and culinary delights, you can live longer than cycling, especially because of the extensive national network of veloroutes.
These will take you veloroutes canal towpaths, quiet lanes and converted railway lines as well as get you in the heart of the countryside through the use of greenways also known as greenways, which are specially designated tracks that are completely closed to motorized traffic, you can even hire your cycle on the path of one of the Veils many places, covering the cycle of the main routes.
You can still find areas in France that are so peaceful, it is rare to see a car, and yet can be passed by a few passionate cyclists! Stop for lunch and experience the local cuisine and of course the local wine is must and can be found often fortified villages scattered along the crest of the mountains and valleys of the most pleasant of stops.
Or if you prefer your package holiday then why not let that hotel transport your luggage, finding accueil establishments offering a "veil" which are hotels and bed and breakfasts that are specifically of cycling across France.
With a French Alps cycling holiday can not go wrong, as you will discover some of the worlds most spectacular cycling routes, with increases, including the famous Col de la Croix Fer der Alpe d'Huez and around Grenoble. But just as the Alps, cycling in the Pyrenees with its mountain climbs as Col de Portet d'Aspet and the Col d'Aspin will give you the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful in Europe. While these are not for the feint heart! If you've ever watched the Tour de France, have seen some of those routes to the middle mountain and cyclists who they pass, however, maybe this could be just the type of vacation you are looking for!
In addition, the region of Midi-Pyrenees offers a wealth of art and history of the prehistoric cave paintings Renaissance mansions and is also famous throughout France for its cuisine, which is rich with foie gras, Roquefort cheese, Gaillac wines, and Armagnac brandy, but to get the most of this region, it is often advisable to plan your cycling vacation carefully, so you can enjoy the many different places on the road.
However, if a bike and go mountain biking routes through the mountains is not exhausting you, then do not worry, there are plenty other areas in France for the novice or the cycling family holidays, such as Britain, this area is ideal for a family cycling holiday, as the coastal routes along bays are reasonably flat, to facilitate travel, while the Loire is more undulating, yet fabulous chateaux and riverside towns will captivate and family on their travels.
What about the Poitou-Charentes, which is an excellent choice for those who love wildlife and the observation birds, since the area is still very rural, even compared to some of the other areas of France and Burgundy is a great spot to go through many channel paths.
Then there is the Dordogne, which is very picturesque, and the rivers and streams through forests and vineyards, the area offers a variety so you can enjoy the whole experience from beginning to the end of your holiday.
Mind you, with a cycling holiday for you, and there is no need to worry about where it will stop for a break or lunch or when going to happen, which means you do not have to have their bags filled to the brim, as all their belongings transported for you, ready and waiting when you arrive at your next stop, more if you decide to add other activities such as canoeing and horseback riding and then the bikes will transported to their next stop and you will be picked up at a specified location.
So if you are a cycling enthusiast or a novice with a family, France a fantastic destination to explore on his bicycle.
