The Tour de France

Before I came on my mountain bike holiday for the first time in Morzine When I learned of the connection of the bike words and France, I thought of the Tour de France. No doubt, the Tour de France had a huge effect on the culture of France bicycle. Cycling and mountain biking have been at the center of public consciousness in France during the last century - the Tour de France has much to do with that fact. This is probably one reason that Morzine has become one of the stations in mountain bike leading the world.

Hardly anyone in the world knows about the Tour de France, but most of us do not know much more. Here are some facts about Tour de France that most people are not aware:

The Tour de France was the first thought of a sports magazine editor in order to promote magazine. The race was planned to be a challenging and demanding long run through many parts of France. Over the years the Tour de France has become a popular event that captured public attention in France.

The Tour de France is a 21-23 race day long. Its course is different each year. The course of the race circuit is always around France and sometimes passing through neighboring countries. The race is divided into stages. Each stage is considered a separate race. The contestant who obtains the highest score low total is declared the winner of the race.

The Tour definitely added to the culture of cycling in France. I recommend coming to cycling holidays in Morzine especially in the summer months. The experience of being in France during the peak days of the Tour de France is one of a kind.
