How to replace the brake discs
Replacing the brake disc, also called the rotor, in a front-drive car is regarded as a relatively simple for a car owner.
First, raise the wheels of the car and support with jack stands for safety. Do not work in the car while only in a cat. Remove the wheel. Now, to replace a brake disc, brake caliper must be removed. Locate the caliper attaching bolts, screws or clips that hold the clamp in place and eliminate them.
Then remove the clamp straight lift from the center of the wheel. The clip must be lifted evenly and not an end before the other. It may be necessary to separate slightly the brake pads for easy removal. This can be done by using a lever to gently pry the clip joint outwards. Support for the clip attaching a string or wire. Do not let it hang by the brake hose.
After removing the caliper disc brake is ready for removal. Many front-drive cars are equipped with a brake disc simply slides off the caliper bolts. Some discs are carried out two or three screws. A few cars require a bit more work. The nut of the drive shaft may need to be removed and three or four screws holding the disc / hub assembly in place from the inside must be removed. Then the set can be separated to remove the disc. In most rear wheel drive vehicles, the front wheel is supported by the wheel bearings. These bearings must be removed to remove the disc from the hub assembly.
Reinstalling the new album will be in reverse order of disassembly. Wheel bearings must be cleaned and repacked if removed.
