The white wines of the north are deliciously fruity (Arinto castes, Fernão Pires, Vital). Outside this diversity, the growing areas of Obidos and Alenquer, Arruda dos Vinhos and Torres Vedras were born in 1989. The region is also known for its light wines with an alcoholic lower, and for the only DOC (controlled standard of origin) classified brandy in Portugal - Spirits of Lourinha Vinica.
