Anti-lock brakes
What are the antilock brakes? Not many people know about them, but antilock brakes are something that almost everybody uses each time you enter a vehicle. Antilock brakes are a very useful system that makes braking much easier to stop than it would otherwise.
The main problem with the brakes that are not anti-lock is that they have a tendency to confine a quick stop when necessary. A record that is the drag does not have much traction as one that is not dragging. Therefore, anti-lock brakes keep brakes from locking and reducing the number of wheels have traction.
The difference between the suspension with ABS and without anti-lock brakes is tremendous. The average driver with anti-lock brakes will be able to stop faster and with more control that a professional driver who is not using the ABS. That's an important difference.
Each system anti-lock brake has four components main speed sensors, pump, valves, and a controller. Speed sensors are located at each wheel. These sensors allow the car built in the know when a wheel is about to close. Valves serve the important function of regulating the force with which each brake can be applied individually.
Valves have three standard positions in regulating the brake pressure. When a valve is in open position, the master cylinder pressure is allowed pass through the brake. This allows the brake pressure to increase. When a valve is blocking the brake line, allowing no more pressure than should apply even if the driver presses the brake harder. A valve may be somewhere between open and closed positions in order to free up some pressure brake.
The pump works with the valves to help regulate the brake pressure. When a valve releases the brake pressure, the pump is ready for increasing back pressure if necessary. All these parts work together with the controller, which is the car's computer. When things work properly, car stereo is able to adjust the amount of brake pressure at each brake. The end result is a rapid deceleration that will not cause wheel lock.
Brakes lock up a wheel because it can stop faster than a car can. It can take five seconds or more to a car moving at 60 mph to reach to a complete stop. A wheel, however, may lead to a complete stop in one second. A team of cars observed how fast the wheels are accelerating and decelerating. When the computer sees that one wheel is slowing much faster than is possible, the team makes the valve that is in that line of the wheel brakes to lock. This Driver keeps mashing the brake pedal to lock all wheels.
Antilock brakes are beautifully crafted devices that are used in almost all vehicles now. When working properly, reduce the rapid rate without wheels locking up. This makes driving safer for everyone.
