Toyota Exclusive Auto Sponsor of Ny Marathon mix
Toyota the producer of high quality of Toyota parking brake cables will join the marathon that will take place on the streets of New York. The Japanese automaker and currently the largest automaker in the world have signed a three-year contract to become the official and exclusive sponsor of cars, both in the ING Marathon New York and the Media New York City Marathon presented by Nike. The financial part of the deal were not disclosed, but the Japanese automaker will platform with its hybrid, the Prius, Highlander SUV and Camry Hybrid, via regional TV and print, inside and outside the course.
The contract would require the operational use and transportation of athletes and officials, and apart from the monetary prize, the winners of both men and women in the ING Marathon New York will receive a Prius.
The coalition also launched in support of the City Half Marathon presented by Nike New York on 5 August, while the ING New York Marathon will be held on November 4. The previous sponsor of such events Microcompact DaimlerChrysler Smart in 2005.
According to Bryan Riss, Toyota's vehicle operations manager, New York region, "is our Prius hybrid, the glamor, it gets the most attention Hollywood people, but we want to support our full range [] hybrid. "
Riss also said the long-term plan is a hybrid for Toyota to each model that the company is building and with this new alliance will help make consumers aware of the importance of hybrid vehicles. Ann Hinegardner, svp-business development and marketing strategies in the New York Road Runners, which oversees both marathons and many other events throughout the year running, said: "The category Car is very important for the marathon, and signing Toyota is in line with our commitment to the environment and health. The AST Dew Tour will employ several strategies in place that is embarking on its third season this week, Baltimore, Salt Lake City and Cleveland have replaced Louisville, San Jose and Denver as tour stops. Wade Martin, President and CEO at the AST Dew Tour, Aurora, Ill., said: "This is the first part of our strategy to build AST [Action Sports Tour] as an umbrella brand covering other events. We want to become what Nascar AST is for the fans and consumers. "
He added that the TSA plans to include a U.S. winter Action Sports Tour and world news. The tour will also reach many people through outlets such as NBC and USA Network, Fuel TV, FSN radio, VOD in a potential 30 million homes and iTunes. New for this year on MTV and MTV2 will be the behind the scenes and two shows and features before each tour events. Attendance in 2006 was about 250,000, which increased to 15,000 in the inaugural tour. The AST Dew Tour is owned by NBC Universal and Live Nation.
Martin added: "The challenge in our third year will the same challenge in our 10th year: more and more people to attend in person, view or access to events and support our sponsors. "
The other Tour stops include Vleveland Right Guard Open on July 19 to 22 Vans Invitational in Portland, Oregon, on August 16 to 19 and finally the Toyota challenge Salt Lake City on September 20 to 23.
