Performance Bicycle: What is performance?

To talk about performance bicycles, we should start by defining the term. All know what the bike, but what about performance? I think many people tend to define the word performance as the ability to provide superior operating ie, maximum speed, superior handling and a smooth mechanical clock.

While no doubt all these definitions refer to a concept performance overall, I would like to offer another point of view of the results in relation to bicycles. While we all want to be the next Lance Armstrong, our best personnel performance to reflect the world speed records or distance.

In my opinion, for the amateur rider, even the more serious cyclist, performance should be a matter of finding the bike that best suits your lifestyle. This will include things other than superior, high-speed Performance Racing.

The best bikes for the common user has many factors unrelated to the race to take into consideration. How much I can spend on a bike? I have to carry my bike upstairs, will the bike be heavy to lift? There are many practical problems that can end up doing more of a difference to cut a couple of seconds your mileage.

One thing to consider is where they keep the bike, and which will maintain when traveling to different destinations. You may not want to have a flashy cover line of the bike in certain parts of town anyway.

And if you want to get into the issue of not flashy bikes, boy, could talk your ear. There are amazing things about recycling old bikes so [recycled bicycles] in new bikes fabulously functional and affordable!

I remember when I was young, after a short period of ownership, the dismantling and customizing my very elegant red and chrome cycling Columbia who had received a Christmas. The first elements were removed fender deluxe chrome and extension of the tail and of course the chain guard chrome.

I was not the only one of my friends who made this, risking the wrath of parents wondering why we like bikes expensive and luxurious looking and pulled down. I remember the Wynn brothers. Bicycle made chopper by mounting the front wheel fork and the tube face down on the bike frame gives the bike that seem to switch on the motorcycle. This was our definition of a performance bike.

The Wynn brothers had a collection of used bicycles and bicycle parts that surprised me. What they did with the pieces was even more surprising.

Maintain capacity is the way forward. Each time we are able to use what already exists we're giving someone a new bike that can not afford an opponent. Or perhaps we just salvage a point in a landfill, where things have not figured out how to recycle can go.

Consider all your concerns and interests surrounding the type of bike that best fits your lifestyle and your community. You can learn something about yourself and other people like you living next door.
