Bike MS: Pedal to the Point Spinners The Cure 2010

Day after day, Christopher Spicker is hard work, paying taxes, average Joe, during the week. But on weekends it becomes a hard core bike riding machine with a purpose. 15 years ago, Christopher's brother, Karl, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis also known as MS. Nothing can make you feel more helpless that they can only see the effects of MS claims its victims. So that when the opportunity came along to participate by riding in the National MS event fundraisers, Bike MS: Pedal to the Point, Christopher joined Karl's wife Anne Spicker, riding only two years ago in this event, and started the computer, Spinners for the Cure last year. 12 family members and friends of the riding 150 miles, in two days, course of Middleburg Heights to Sandusky, Ohio and back in hot and humid climate exhausting to raise $ 20286.00. This year the team has grown to 21 members family and friends, with a goal of raising $ 30,000.00.

Karl can only walk with the aid of a cane, and attended this event last year in a wheelchair, waving to all team members at the rest stop for each period, to support and ensure all members of the Spinners for the Cure that could very difficult to complete this feat. Heart breaking enough, make for different reasons ... some members were only a few kilometers from the finish and had to stop, there was not a dry eye to be found when they were brought by the support vehicles, and promised to end "the next years." After 130 140 miles, one of Christopher's brothers' had to make her 16 years, Britain, stop, because, although it was bound and determined to cross the finish line had to take the difficult decision and take it off the road that she was suffering from heat exhaustion and a strained leg muscle. I can only assume that this is one of the many reasons why Karl has somehow found the strength to take on the challenge of this year's MS bike with a custom trike ...

Karl says: "I want to do something for people who have been diagnosed, because I want to do everything possible to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with this disease and to show my appreciation and admiration to those who have traveled or who supported us, who have done so much and for this reason. God willing, I will be with them this years, every mile that he loves me! "

It is not just fun riding in extremely hot and humid that Christopher keeps going for more. For the cost of travel to Ohio, the time off work, not to mention their own donations, Christopher could easily make a considerable donation in lieu of travel, but what he experienced with his teammates, and seeing what it means to his brother Karl, the game brings more than just a bike ride or fundraising event brings hope to his brother.

Spinners What sets for the Cure, apart from the other teams, is that there are only 7 Spicker Riding in honor of his brother Karl, of which five are brothers, but other family members and friends along with the support team comes from as far away as Georgia, Indiana, California, and throughout Ohio! Christopher and his wife, about 40 + hours and 2,500 miles to reach the starting line of this event. This amazing family, and friends engaged to ride for those who suffer, suffer and have suffered the pains and trials of multiple sclerosis. There are over 400,000.00 people in the U.S. alone to endure the complications of multiple sclerosis, something that there is no known cure as of this writing, no known reason how about being part of so many lives.

With the money from this fundraising effort, research can be improved, the advice can be obtained, you can build ramps and so many dreams can be achieved for future generations, so that one day no one will hear the words again ... have MS.

On August 14 and 15, in a small people in Ohio, 1641 cyclists riding for a reason, to help stop multiple sclerosis. Encouraged by the generous donations, prayers and good wishes for a safe journey, each runner will strive forward to the finish line to experience one of the most emotional moments of his life.
