Traveling with low carbon - 3 steps to lower your travel carbon emissions
We should all be concerned about global warming and make each we can to reduce the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere. There are three steps you can use to reduce their impact during the trip, with carbon offsets travel to your destination, choosing carbon light accommodations, and pay attention to how you move about your destination.
Carbon offsets air travel
It is difficult to get around the emissions it produces, while the return flight to your destination. At present the best option is for you to buy one off carbon. There are many nonprofit organizations that use money from your carbon offset donation to assist in the development of sustainable energy sources such as wind and solar power generation. Other carbon offset programs plant trees to absorb the carbon produced during flight. carbon offsets are not so costly. Carbon compensation calculated on Carbonfund.org for a roundtrip flight from San Francisco to Paris would be only $ 11. Of course posting Carbon can also be used for any travel mode that produces carbon emissions either by car, train or ship.
Accommodation
A potentially cleaner accommodation option to consider is a vacation apartment or home. Staying at a vacation rental in control of energy use - As you do at home. Hotels use a tremendous amount of energy for heating, air conditioning, daily linen change, and all other services they offer. Your vacation rentals are not consumed large amounts of electricity 24 / 7 365 days a year because the hotel does. You can limit the amount consciousness energy use by turning off the heating or air conditioning while you are out sightseeing. You can use the linens and towels as you do at home.
Of course we all like to eat out and enjoy the cuisine of the region we are visiting restaurants, but also the use and waste large amounts of energy contributing to CO2 emissions generated by the climate control and keeping the kitchen and dining room constantly. With a vacation rental does not have to eat all their meals in restaurants, with its own kitchen available that can correct some of your meals further reduces energy consumption and carbon load. Buy local produce Farmers' markets even further reduce their carbon footprint. Locally grown produce produces much less greenhouse gases because of the distances shorter transport.

While visiting your destination, of course, the cleanest way will be moving on foot, by bike, bus, street tram, or use the subway trains in cities. In large European cities like Paris or Berlin, you can take advantage of the street bike rental programs. Bicycles are parked in the city willing to travel with the pass of a credit card. Bike to your destination and simply lock the bike up and you're on your way. Not only will you be making the planet a favor but you gain the opportunity to discover a view single or connect with people when they're stuck in a car or taxi. If your accommodation is not located near public transport and you must rent a car that can minimize carbon emissions by requesting a Diesel vehicle. In some places you can even rent Hybrid vehicles which of course reduce carbon footprint further.
We can all make a difference to help clean our air and reduce global warming emissions by the choices we make do when we spend our own money. We hope these ideas useful in planning your next trip so you can travel with little carbon.
