ATV and Dirt Bike Safety for Children
A dirt bike or ATV (all terrain vehicle) is to ride off road. In fact, it is a motorcycle equipped with light-resistant tires and suspension, ie you can call it a 2 or 4 wheel off road motorcycles. ATV and dirt bikes have been around since the 60s and still are thriving. Children and adults thirst for adventure and the call for steep terrain is renewed with each generation.

It is now common to see young people who are seven to eight years of mounting mountain bikes and road experts and easily. But injuries caused by riding dirt bikes and ATVs happen very often. Studies by the U.S. Safety Commission Consumer Products have reached impressive figures: up to 4 out of 10 people involved in an accident are children under the age of ATV 16.
The main safety rule is to learn first course to ride an ATV or dirt bike before hitting the open air. Responsibility for the correct formation of a child to ride ATVs or dirt bikes lies with the parents. The young should be supervised at all times while driving an all terrain machine.
The law in the U.S. does not allow ATVs on highways and children should never be allowed to ride when there is traffic. Children should not be allowed to carry anyone on the ATV, which is a major cause of serious accidents. It is good practice to review complete before traveling before using the ATV or dirt bike. Check the tire pressure, gas level, proof of the front and rear brakes and lights. Please refer to the manufacturers of ATV manual for details.
Riding on public roads can be fatal. Take care that children ride without a helmet, gloves, eye protection and protective clothing. It is good sense not to comply with protective equipment for other activities such as arts soccer dad - because the equipment required for safe driving on motorcycles and ATV is designed for that purpose in mind.
Motorcycles and ATVs are age-specific and specific size, so that the elderly are advised to purchase and improve the bike according to the child's age. There is no rule as to what age a child must be to ride an ATV or dirt bike, but do not put a child of four years on a 110cc ATV or dirt bike 50cc. An accident 4 stroke 70cc ATV for kids packs enough punch for an adult to have fun in it. Thankfully most youth ATVs and motorcycles are equipped with security controls such as:
A speed regulator sets the maximum of such 5MPH
A cable plug that allows an adult to run together with the young and pull to kill the engine (great feature for younger riders)
A remote control that can kill the engine with the push of a button within up to 200 feet (ideal to stay with the older kids under control)
As always popping the question, how young a child can ride an ATV? Since each child is different, it is up to each parent to decide what age a child can ride what bike ATV or dirt.
Remember that a child on a bike is definitely vulnerable. Riding off-road vehicles can be fun and provide a healthy workout. To reduce the risk of injuries, good training, constant monitoring and following the manufacturer's instructions are a must.
