3 Reasons to Consider a Bamboo Bike
Bamboo bikes are more than a marketing gimmick. When you consider bamboo’s strength but remarkable light weight, it actually makes a perfectly sensible bike frame. Stronger than steel yet lighter than most wood, bamboo has serious advantages when it comes to building a bike frame. The next time you hit a road that’s not too busy, look down at your bike frame as you set off. You’ll probably be surprised by how much it flexes. Make sure the bamboo is smoked and heat treated rather than chemically processed. An organic approach makes for healthier bamboo, so it is worth looking into how the bamboo is actually processed.
