Mercedes Vision C 220 BLUETEC in Geneva
Mercedes-Benz has recently presented at the Geneva Motor Show friendly Bluetec technology environment that are combined for the first time with a fuel economy four-cylinder engine. The Vision C 220 BLUETEC is also created to satisfy even the stricter EURO 6 emission standard which is expected to apply to all new vehicles in Europe from 2015.
The Vision C 220 BLUETEC delivers an output of 125 kW or 170 hp and strong torque of 400 Nm. It consumes an average of 5.5 liters of diesel per hundred kilometers. The Vision C 220 BLUETEC offers a glimpse of what to expect from this initiative. The BLUETEC initiative was launched in the U.S. last fall with the E 320 BLUETEC.
The introduction of the BLUETEC initiative also coincides with the release of diesel low sulfur diesel in North America. The E 320 BLUETEC shows a fuel consumption of 6.7 liters per one hundred kilometers to this vehicle as the most economical vehicles in its class in the U.S..
Mercedes-Benz offers three V6 BLUETEC models ie the R-Class and GL-Class M ---- all with BIN 5 certification that the 50 U.S. states already required in 2008. It was at the Detroit Motor Show when Mercedes-Benz has shown how suitable clean and economical high torque engines are for large cars and SUVs. The V8 diesel engine in the Vision GL 420 BLUETEC which made its debut at the Auto Show in Detroit can produce an output of 216 kW/290 hp with a maximum torque of 700 Nm and a fuel consumption of 9.8 liters per hundred kilometers.
The first four models of Mercedes-Benz Bluetec illustrate the versatility of such innovative technology. After the launch of the initiative in the U.S. BLUETEC, Mercedes-Benz also plans to introduce BLUETEC in other markets worldwide. The Bluetec technology is currently being developed that is adapted to European market requirements and scheduled for release from 2008. The models Bluetec that Mercedes-Benz developed to make use of quality Mercedes auto parts like Mercedes brake Reinforcement is a vital part of a Mercedes vehicle. Mercedes brake boosters amplify the pressure the driver applies the brakes.
BLUETEC technology DaimlerChrysler exclusive
The initiative is developed by DaimlerChrysler BLUETEC in order to reduce harmful diesel emissions, especially nitrogen oxides is high concentration of diesel engines compared to their counterparts Petrol. This is also one of the reasons why the engineers at Mercedes-Benz have focused on the engines and their combustion processes.
The Vision C 220 BLUETEC is equipped with a sophisticated four-cylinder plant like any standard-production engines of the C 220 is equipped with four valves per cylinder, turbocharger with variable turbine geometry and exhaust gas recirculation. It also has a sensitive engine management unit, which responds to a wide range operating conditions which in turn optimizes the combustion process.
The BLUETEC technology in the Vision C 220 also includes a catalytic converter oxidation and a particulate filter that reduces the level of emissions of carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons. A custom fitted durable storage catalytic and a NOx converter combines patented onboard ammonia generation with additional SCR catalytic converter reduces nitrogen oxides. These gases exhaust after treatment process is not in any way for additives.
