Caring for your Mercedes-Benz brake system

The master cylinder Mercedes which is usually used for Mercedes vehicles are manufactured by Girling, ATE, and Bendix. These master cylinders or tanks used two of three cameras, a level sensor Integrated contact in each chamber. At a time when the brake fluid level is low or when there is pressure difference between the two brake circuits caused by loss fluid in either circuit, an alarm light is activated.

The series 190, 420, 500 and use floating front calipers brake disc while the other Benz models especially those with parking brakes and cable actuated rear brake calipers on the rotor uses non-floating type. All Mercedes cars have indicators brake pad wear and differential pressure indicator warning. The Series 420 and 500 have inner pads only when the Anti-Lock Brake System is offered as a standard feature on the 420SEL, 300 and 560 series and optional for the 190 Series. For the diesel models incorporating a vacuum pump to provide the unit of power brake vacuum.

Adjust pedal height
Height measured from the foot pedal to pedal stop pad should be 150 mm. For the right foot height adjustment loosen the lock nuts and turn stop light switch then tighten the lock nuts and pedal free play of 5-15 mm.

Above the brake pedal is the brake light switch, loosen the lock nuts and adjust the switch so that the contact button extends 6-8mm and then then tighten the lock nuts.

Parking Brake

1. Before raising the vehicle it is best to remove only one lug bolt in each rear wheel.

2. Try to rotate the wheel until the bolt hole is placed on the shoe parking brake set at an angle of 45 degrees forward for diagonal swing axle and 90 degrees forward for diagonal swing axle torque compensation. And remember that the parking brake should be adjusted if the pedal brake can be pressed for more than two steps from 6 without any braking effect. Try not to try and alter the screws on the parking brake lever and that these intermediate Screws are for the balance of cable lengths.

3. with a screwdriver inserted through the lug bolt hole, hand turn the adjustment until rear wheel can not be returned, reversing the adjuster it can be turned without the drag of the wheel.

Check warning light Brake

1. The board is mounted a double-warning light, try to turn the ignition. Typically you will see a shining light of the parking brake, a while pulling the knob notch tone and turns off when the brake lever is fully released.

2. A test circuit warning sensor, after starting the engine, release the parking brake and make sure the light is off. Open the bleed screw on one wheel and press the brake pedal and the light should turn on.

3. Close screw purge refill the brake fluid and bleed the system. Also make sure the light goes out after the test and if the light is not turned off then pin and the pressure differential Mercedes brake master cylinder needs to be reset.
