Flanged connectors valve

A combination valve and flange connection for connecting a metallic or nonmetallic pipe directly the valve body is disclosed. The flanged valve connector includes a radial flange at one end secured longitudinal valve body. Secured to the flange is a radial tubular member for receiving an end section of pipe to be connected with the body of the valve.

The tubular member has a final size general conical protuberance to comfortably accommodate a gasket sealed the relationship between the tubular member and the valve body. The tubular member is sufficiently long to be engaged by a catch for holding the seal in place and to support also a follower of the participation of the ring retainer, the ring follower equipped with a deep, longitudinally extending strengthening flange.

In combination with a valve including a body valve through it with a longitudinal passageway, a closure element of said valve body intermediate its ends, the operator means acting closure element ONSA to open and close the longitudinal passage, a flanged valve connector comprising: means radial flange on the valve body at least one of the longitudinal ends to ensure a bolt in the compression assembly coupling the valve body to a tubular member secured to said means enlarged radial flange and extends the outside of the average radial flanges and coaxial with the longitudinal passage for receiving the end of pipe to be connected with the valve body, said tubular partner with a tapered end bump trunk general opening to the outside and businesses to comfortably accommodate a gasket sealed the relationship between the member tube and a tube that connects to the valve body and said tubular member having an axial length sufficient to be engaged by a catch of the board with a section size cylindrical to surround and seal said peripheral end of the tubular member and a radial section to participate comfortably arranged meeting saidsealing in union with the frusto conical entry at one end and receive a follower of the ring with a deep longitudinal flange extends along the periphery of the member tubular and attractive packaging, said retainer, follower ringfunctioning to secure the packing retainer and the member tubular.

In the pipeline industry has produced a significant renewal of the pipeline particularly in gas and pipeline distribution systems. In distribution systems, cast iron and steel pipe is being replaced by plastic tubing. This replacement posesproblems both the tie-in connection of the plastic pipe in the metal tube, and the installation of valves in the pipeline renewed. If plastic pipe is connected to the metal pipe, the connection may couplingor be a mechanical pin with an installation of pipes, special steel-to-plastic transition that is welded directly to both the steel and pipe plastic.

If a steel valve was needed in the tie in the frame or other parts of a plastic pipe, was necessary before this invention, to use a piece of the final valve and extending first end piece by welding a short length of steel pipe, or isknown like a puppy ", at each end. This was done for the valve ends to accept the installation of mechanical screw type couplings. The valve was installed after the pipe by connecting one end piece extended to metal tubing with bolt-type ametallic and coupling that connects the opposite end of the pipe extended piece of plastic with a mechanical Bolton on the coupling type.

An alternative valve installation when the pipe used steel and plastic pipes were involved, is to use a piece welding end valve and an end piece directly to the steel pipe and welded to the steel and special plastic suitable transition to the tip of the valve piece front and then soldering the connection to the plastic pipe. As is known, has not beenprovided a valve structure that allows us to solve this problem of connecting pipes of different or incompatible materials and also act to provide line valves.

My invention overcomes the above problems, providing a valve and connector structure which may be attached to the free end of plastic pipe or a metal aqueduct to both seal and keep the plastic tube or metal to valvebody, and also to allow the other side of the valve welded to a metal pipe line as usual.

You should now be clear how the flange valve connector of the present invention provides the advantage of a simple and inexpensive to connect the pipes to the valve as part of my invention. My valve flange connectoreliminates the need for additional elements of welding the valve body and reduces the number of parts for pipe connection to the body of the valve. It should be obvious to experts in the art that the construction of the connector socket can inits my simplicity be structurally modified to accommodate other special connector without departing from the scope of the invention.
