The role of patient accounting positions a hospital has been constantly evolving. In the past, accounting of patients and staff of the office businesses simply hire people with little to no training for bills in envelopes and sit back to see material claims are resolved and paid within 21 days. Finding people to fill these positions has been a task easy because the job descriptions lacked complexity and challenge.

Today, revenue managers are becoming increasingly cycle in "dire need" of the knowledge needed to improve cash flow and reduce delinquency institutions. But a tight labor market combined with the increasingly complex management functions of healthcare receivables has intensified the need for more qualified and talented.
