How to change front disc brakes from a Toyota Highlander
Toyota cars are made of high quality parts, but sometimes it is necessary change parts of a car no matter the brand of car you have. This is important to maintain the performance of your car and to avoid further damage in a car near future. Front disc brakes are one of the most important parts of a car. As the owner of a car you need to see if this part needs replacement. If that's the case, here are several useful steps to help you change your time of front disc.
First, you have to park your car in a flat surface. You have to put the parking brake before starting. Also find and place wooden wedges behind the wheels to prevent the car from moving. This is important to ensure that the car will not make any unnecessary movement, and replace the Toyota Highlander, as the front disc brake. After you place your vehicle in a safe position, it is necessary to drain the fluid from the master cylinder reservoir with a syringe. You have to drain at least two thirds of the fluid the master cylinder. If the level fluid inside the master cylinder is less than halfway complete, no need to drain the fluid.
Using a jack, it is necessary to raise the source of the vehicle and secure it with a jack stand. A cat is important to be able to safely remove the wheels. From the clip you need to unhook the hose line brake. To prevent loss of fluid overload, connect the hose. With the use of a Spanish key, close the slide caliper pins. Then remove the bolts.
Then I want to raise the clamp and remove the assembly. By using a mechanical cable, cancel the frame. After that, remove the wedges against sequel, and the right pad wear indicator of the inner pad.
Do not forget the fat clamp slides using lithium grease or similar products. You must use a disc brake grease on the sequel to combat trousers. Then, install the wedges and pads.
Install all the screws and be sure to tighten the bolts. Making use of a torque wrench and tighten the screws to 25 pounds. Re connecting all the parts necessary, as the hose from the brake line and the negative battery cable. Add a little brake fluid, then carefully lower your car with the cat. Start the car and pump the brake pedal for 3 to 4 times to be able to seat the brake pad.
Test your Toyota Highlander at a moderate speed to ensure that the procedure was successful. Once you are sure the brakes work properly, you have completed the work and drive as normal.
