Electric Bicycle
An electric bicycle or an electric bike or an e-bike is a bicycle with electric motor assist with pedaling. They use rechargeable batteries and can travel up to 20 miles per hour. Electric bikes are quickly replacing traditional bikes and motorcycles in certain markets. In most countries, electric bikes are classified as bicycles instead of motor vehicles.
Electric motorized bicycles may use different technologies and may vary in cost and complexity. Both direct drive and geared motor units are used in e-bikes. An electric power assistance system could be added to any cycle of the pedal with chain drive, belt, center engine or friction drive. The power levels of engines used in the e-bikes are determined by the existing legal categories are generally limited to less than 750 watts.
Electric bicycles mainly use rechargeable batteries, electric motors and some type of control. The scope of the e-bike is considerably influenced by some key factors such as efficiency of the engine, battery capacity, efficiency, driving electronics, aerodynamics, hills and weight the bike and rider.
