How to buy this holiday smarter

Well, it's definitely that time of year again, time of year when we all forced to think about Christmas shopping season even before Halloween has come and gone. It's still warm outside and store displays are now with Santa Claus and more shiny new Christmas decorations for the Christmas tree. So I guess then it would be wise of us to start thinking about how to approach our shopping techniques for the holiday season again. We simply must make a commitment to not do the same mistakes we made last year - standing in long lines, the control the crowd, spending more than budgeted, waiting until the last minute or being the first in the line of Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving, which traditionally marks the start of the holiday shopping season) and, finally, getting trampled as we fight to get the camera or discounted digital flat screen tv.

Instead, let's take the "Holiday Shopper smarter Pledge" (for printing and distribution).

"Consumer Smart Holiday Promise"

I, (insert your name here), agree to adhere to the recommendations of purchases ten holidays listed below. I realize that by not doing so, may suffer from buyer's remorse holiday including but not limited to: loss of cash reserves, the increase in credit card debt, and madness, about overexposure to the crowds, outrageous lines, and low product inventory.

1. I will use cash.
Use of money makes it easier to stay within budget. Does not even mean to use your debit card, because you are able to justify spending a little on a particular gift if there is money available in your checking account. I say set limits, cash use, and when the money is gone, no more shopping for gifts. Now this is going to take a little self-control and fight with himself in the holiday season, but if you have $ 100 for gifts, then do not push the budget and spend $ 101. No matter how you wrapped in Christmas lights, music, and other guests smiling Christmas shopping bags carrying their large, stay within your budget in cash ... will help you do that!

2. I'll keep track of my expenses credit card.
Ok, if you absolutely must use a credit card, use the one with the lowest interest rate and know how you will pay the balance credit card. Carrying balances obviously costs more than the topic itself. Therefore, the negotiation that we had on holiday is no longer a bargain 90 120 days later. Have a plan to pay for holiday purchases. In addition and equally important, how much is spent on credit cards. Still need to set limits.

3. I'll be patient.
There's nothing like waiting in a long check out line and have to support verification of prices after the price revision or a holder of credit card refused to argue with the cashier, or even a shift change just as the focus of the record. Without But we all know that these things happen. Calm down and be patient. If you need a small book or magazine to join you, do so. If you can not leave children home is an option because it will add additional stress to your trip, do so. Maybe just take a deep breath can help. Calm down and be patient.

4. I'll start shopping early in the season and out of the road.
I've never understood why people wait until the last minute to do their Christmas shopping when know that drives nuts. Start Shopping Now. Malls are not overcrowded yet. No one else is really thinking about Christmas shopping by time. You could be the first.

5. I will give cheaper but instead creative gifts.
Now, I'm not necessarily suggesting arts and crafts here unless of course that's what you do. But we are not all creative minds. However, for example, if you think of a gift the whole family working, no doubt save money. My family loves the older films. A great creative gift basket consisting of a few old movies, popcorn and candy, and maybe a blanket definitely be less expensive than trying to take us all individual gifts. Think outside the box to indicate money!

6. I want to have a game plan.
In order to get the must have items or items hard to find people, you have to create a game plan. That game plan has to take into consideration the availability of components, budget, and when you can go to find items. Do not leave home without a game plan in general terms how it goes, what you're buying, how much to buy, and what alternate gift selections. Yes, at least it should keep in mind what the alternative gift item should not be able to find the gift or if in the end losing a battle in the shop with another mother determined.

7. I will buy with confidence.
Safer is better. See your belongings personal at all times, including handbags, shopping, and children. Pay special attention to the log when you can distract yourself with details of the transaction or outside in the parking lot or waiting for public transport. Last holiday season was late with other buyers on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, where you can feel false sense of security. A team of thieves portfolio was looking for his next victim. She was seen with his children, completely distracted, wide portfolio, the crossing the busy Michigan Avenue. Luckily, someone saw how the situation will arise, and warned him before the holiday shopping season was ruined. Be a Buy sure!

8. I'll get enough rest.
There's nothing like going out during the holiday shopping season and out of fuel. An important part of their business strategy must be to get plenty of rest the night before. Get a great start in the morning with a good breakfast and wear comfortable shoes. You should be all set to go. This type of shopping trips can sometimes go all day and night, especially if you are a friend of mine who likes to shop, literally, until the close of robs stores, bargain last frame as the last call announcement comes over the intercom. Be prepared and get some rest.

9. I forget the bargains at outlet malls.
If you are in downtown Chicago and looking for a change, one of the malls for bargains on holiday. You need a car, but prices could be well worth the drive. When we make a list of things to do in Chicago, often overlook the viability of the shopping centers output. There are deals on luxury items from designers like Kate Spade, Giorgio Armani, and buses in Chicago Premium Outlet Mall and Lighthouse Place Premium Outlet (in nearby Michigan, Indiana). Gurnee Mills Mall with retailers for the whole family, a Cineplex and a reptile zoo ... in case the children need a break. And if you go to Gurnee Mills Mall, then you might as well stop by Pleasant Prairie Prime Outlets Mall is located a few miles away across the border Wisconsin. Or you can choose to visit the Prime Outlet Mall in Huntley, Illinois, located west of Chicago along the Northwestern Turnpike. Visit the Prime Outlet Mall in Huntley would give you the opportunity to add to visit IKEA and Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois.

10. I will try to avoid crowds at all costs.
Shopping earlier in the day or first thing Saturday morning will help prevent some of the crowd during the week and rising later on Saturday or Sunday. Or if you like the store late at night, most stores have extended holiday hours. Most people like to be home by this time. This can work to your advantage. There are fewer people at night. But remember to be safe.

Note: You, could, of course, to shop online but then that takes all the "fun" of the whole Christmas shopping experience.
