The light and rarely produce pigment that appears in Argentium silver can be easily removed with a piece of lint-free cloth, like a piece of shirt. Any cloth polishing work well too.

Question:

How does one maintain stainless steel shot, used to drop a piece, free black oxides that accumulate and can give a dark residue to silver?

Answer:

First I want to say that if you use a work-hardened glass and clean your jewelry pieces, never is that mixing of metals in the same batch tumble. Each consignment must be a pure metal such as copper or all of the silver or brass all (this means that no metal parts mixed and one made of silver and copper, etc) stainless steel pellets should be cleaned between each and leave each.

Now Here are some reasons why the shot is black.
