Marking cleat position of more power and less pain
With regular pedals and toe clips of your foot can move a bit to find the best position. Clipless pedals with your foot is held in a fixed position so it is important to get the blocks positioned correctly for single bone and muscle structure.
Installing pedals is easy, but putting heels of the shoes can be difficult with changes in the available settings. Most are studs up front, from side to side and rotation angle. If you receive the wrong set of coves that will put the foot, ankle and knee alignment. Over time this can lead to pain and the potential long-term injury.
The easiest way to the appropriate placement of strips is go to the store and get used to the position for you. It's cheap and will save a lot of potentially painful trial and error. If you want to do it yourself, the following guidelines will help you set with the least amount of problems.
Fore-aft placement

Placement of rotation

Side to side placement
This is difficult to do on your own because it has to do with the position of the bicycle pedal. If your feet are too narrow or too broad knees, not your career properly on the pedals.
A couple of things to look.
If your knees when you pedal your way down the wings, his feet are probably too close together. Move your cleats to the inside, closer to the bike. You may also need to put a spacer on the pedal to move out.

Leg Length Imbalance
If you feel you can never find seat height right it may have a leg length imbalance. Travelling with an imbalance can lead to knee problems and hip and back pain. If the difference is less than 6 mm, usually not much of a problem, but nothing more than this must be corrected. The general rule is to correct half the difference, so If discrepancy is 8 mm to adjust your leg shorter than 4 mm.
This can be accomplished by shimming your cleat shorter leg and move the leg clamp long back. This is just one example, because depending on whether the difference is higher or lower leg, I'll use different techniques to correct it. Think of your feet as his power base.
