TX (19751977)
Holden Gemini The original model, the TX series, was introduced in March 1975. It was available as a four-door sedan in S and SL levels specification, and as a two-door coupe, SL. The Gemini TX Holden factory was built at Acacia Ridge, Queensland and contained a high percentage of Australian content.
All TX models to share the same 1.6-liter SOHC Isuzu (encrypted with the G161Z). The engine was powered by chain and head design incorporating a cross-flow alloy. A two-barrel "Nikki" Stromberg carburetor was used on the models of Australia. The TX early models used a free flow cast iron exhaust manifold with two outlets in a "Y" pipe is used (this point is commonly switches used by the later models). Since November 1976 this was changed to a single exhaust outlet header to comply with EPA regulations.
Wheel size was 13 "x 4.5" rear brakes duo-servo units, similar in design to those used in the six-cylinder Torana. The TC Gemini sold between March 1977 and April 1978. 1983 TG Holden Gemini SL / X sedan
The TG series was released in March 1983. The SL and SL / X versions of TG looked exactly like the TF SL / X, with lights flush head, plastic bumpers and taillights similar to that of a VH Commodore. However, the basis of the TG model continued the theme of TF, with many examples and FT confusing for models. Base model vehicles had vinyl seats, no clock or a cigarette lighter, and not around the console shifter.
In 1983, a performance model, named the ZZ / Z (triple zed). In May 1985 Gemini RB Series was released. Based on front wheel drive GM A platform, no sell as well as the previous rear-wheel drive Gemini, with a total production of almost 16 263 units. The Gemini RB was offered only in sedan form four doors, with SL / X and SL / E trim levels, as well as a fleet of only SL.
