Hitch-mounted rear-view cameras: Nice or term need?
With all the high-tech gadgets available to consumers today, it can be difficult to understand that the gadgets are of real benefit to us and which are merely toys with price tags generally. Just look at all the teams camera we can get to our vehicles. I mean, do you really need to see "I Love Lucy" repeats while driving 80 miles per hour on a highway full?
While you may not need satellite TV in the car, there is a type of camera and video system that can really a out of a jam or fix, so to speak. It's called a rear view camera, the most desirable of these are hitch mounted, and can literally save your life and the vehicle. What the back View camera mounted on the hitch is not the live video transmission in the cab of his vehicle in your trailer, RV, or anything that crawls. When you are not towing, the hitch of the camera can be used as a back up to the camera. As you can imagine, this system can be very valuable.
There are several types and styles of cameras hitch. Most are priced under $ 250, but there are some more expensive in market. Roadmaster is a compact system with a small 3.5-inch monitor that can be quickly configured on your dashboard or console. No heavy installation involved with this system, and the price is a little over $ 180. SkyMall trailer has a cheaper camera. The monitor of this system is easily adapted to the peak. There are even some available systems having two chambers: one for the back of his vehicle and one for the front of the trailer.
The facility each type of camera is slightly different. Some cameras installed directly over the plate that requires a bit of drilling and cutting. Other cameras only have a few bolts and connect directly to your trailer hitch. After mounting the camera, it's just a matter of running the wiring in the cabin of the vehicle. With most systems, there is a whole lot of installation that is involved with the monitor. The monitor for most systems is removable and is limited or sit in temporarily gives a surface area of the driver's seat.
Remember, knowing what is going on behind you while you are carrying a heavy load can save your life.
