Installing new road bike pedals
Installation of new pedals himself is quick and easy.
You will need the following
* Allen wrench and / or pedal wrench
* Fat
Removing the pedals of age:
Removing the old pedals his crank can easily be done either with the bike on the ground or in a work support.
Note: Pedals Keo Carbons As the eye does not accept a pedal wrench. These pedals require Allen wrench can be placed on the rear axle. Take care that could have a cadence magnet there - for what to delete before trying to remove the pedal.
If you use a work stand, place your hand on the rear wheel or grab the brake to stop the spinning wheel.
The right pedal will fall like any system bolt being used. By turning the shaft counter clockwise (left) pedal is loosened. However, the left pedal is reversed threaded and must be rotated clockwise (right) to loosen. Installation new pedals:
With the old pedal is removed, clean the threads on your rod - the removal of dirt and old grease. Grab your fat and new pedals. Place a strip of fat in the two threads of the pedals.
With the new pedals greased use your fingers to grab the strings and adjusted upward by rotating the arm. Avoid the use of tools until finger tight. Remember that the left pedal is reversed thread. Take your time, there is nothing as disappointing as removal of its handle.
With the new pedals finger be tightened the allen wrench or a key and pedal pressed them to rotate the arm. Typically, a quarter or half turn passes finger tight is sufficient. When you are firmly instead use a rag to wipe off excess fat. Now again, your pedals, ensuring they are securely in place.
