Scrubs Seasons 1-9 DVD version for $ 54.99
Think about the hospitals can not be funny? Think again! Scrubs gives us a weekly dose of hospital drama mingled with some of the most absurd humor you will ever see. As one critic, "are more for the easy jokes and gags than anything else.. "However, this humor has a heart as interns at Sacred Heart Hospital to meet the daily traumas and disease, hoping and leaning on each other the whole way. For seven seasons we have seen of the Sacred Heart and its cast of medical interns / / and patients through the Dr. JD Dorian's eyes (Zach Braff). Scrubs was created by Bill Lawrence and is also starring Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley and Donald Faison, among others. Dr. Dorian tells events and interactions of the characters, giving us a hospital "dramedy" with as much heart chain is taking advantage of medical cases and very broad humor (often as day dreams Dorian). If this sounds like a mixture that does not work for you, consider this: "I never thought he would enter a show like Scrubs. I saw a few reruns at night and I was really addicted ". Scrubs may be too stupid for some to take, but in general, gets marks positive.

2.Here is the eighth season of "Scrubs" - which should have never happened. Like "Diff'rent Strokes" more than 20 years ago, the hospital has dropped NBC sitcom to ABC so that it assumes that is its final season. Or maybe not.
You never know what irrepressible creator and executive producer / executive producer Bill Lawrence might have up his sleeve, and to ensure that he accomplished something a feat to land the 18 episodes stay of execution. Of course, the fact that "Scrubs" is produced ABC Studios would have had a little something to do with it. Whatever the reason, it is quite impressive to see around half an hour of this charming and written beautifully done, especially when we are suffering a shortage of primetime network comedy.
The show reaches the ground in mid-season form after eight months and a change of venue, the integration of a new crop of interns with seamless aplomb and again demonstrating how to fuse dramatic elements in a comedy without breaking a sweat.
The rolls show on ABC with an alias of two guns (two episodes) assault class that displays an impressive range, which has proved be a "Scrubs" force from the outset. First is a segment written by Angela Nissel that talks about the heart and unethical Dr. Maddox, played by none other than new players recurrent Courteney Cox (who surely knows his way around a series of comedy and the play becomes sharply over the top "here). It is surrounding by the allocation routine return of "Scrubs," the underrated players led by Zach Braff, along with Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, the incomparable John C. McGinley and Judy Reyes - long one of the most talented and colorful models of TV. The opening section sizzles a bit before finding a rhythm in Episode 2, Stars Glynn Turman invited as a dying patient to make peace with his mortality.
What is the best of "Scrubs" is politically incorrect tone, one that the offender is so smooth line is already in the rearview mirror before having the opportunity to work up a healthy dose of indignation. ABC is smart to have picked it up, as faithful followers of the series is likely to move with him a few ticks on the line. While universal health care may still be a political utopia, laughter is still a medicine that not only everyone can afford, but desperately need. And "Scrubs" is still good supply without requiring that both as a co-payment.
3.2009 rolls, all shiny and new. With it comes a lot and new episodes of each network. But what the "new" factor goes, SCRUBS has an advantage over them. A cast of interns fresh fool medical school, a new chief of medicine, Dr. Maddox, played by Courteney Cox, and perhaps even a new goalkeeper (Although I wonder if the change will last). And not just a bunch SCRUBS boasts new cast members, is in a completely new network. For those not I know, after seven seasons on NBC, has hightailed Scrubs to ABC. And do not forget, this is Zach Braff's last season in the series. Yes, a lot of changes for there.
There are, however, one and only one important question that needs to be answered. Of course, the "novelty" and "infusion of energy" is being thrown around by the cast of Scrubs as a frisbee when asked about the changes that have shaped the season eight. Tested comic genius such as Cox have been aired on the extra nerve. And the swan song Braff must add drama. But the question remains, the only question to be determined whether all this reinvention in the program is really something to get excited over. Ready? Here it is: Scrubs is funny?
Of course, in recent seasons, Scrubs has walked the fine line of comedy and drama. One minute you have JD (Zach Braff) is derived in lala land, a strange fantasy come to life with hilarious and you end up milk coming out of your nose because you laugh so hard. A minute later the music stops while watching a patient gasping its last breath in the afterlife. But soon, are you laughing again as the mood begins to seep back in. way long ago. That is what makes SCRUBS, well, Scrubs.
So in the eight season openers, "My Jerks" and "My Last Words" is the funny still there?
Oh yes. Scrubs once again offers two very humorous episodes full of emotion.
Goofy as ever, somehow SCRUBS not taken too seriously, even when an entire episode is basically dedicated to himself, as the case of "My jerking." The first match of the eighth season features all new cast members, redefines some of the long-standing relationships in the series, and retools the dynamics between the characters and the show itself. Dr. Maddox is firmly established as the new chief of the hospital and the trainees are presented as peculiar and incompetent. JD and Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) are actually equal to now (well, almost equal). And unfortunately, Dr. Cox learns that even though there is a new chief medicine, its former role as guardian of the hospital is firmly intact.
In other words, much of "My tight" which focused on establish the new foundation for the eighth season of Scrubs. It's a bit like getting new furniture: the same old house (or apartment for you urban), but still needs a walk to get used to the place. "My Jerks" was a tour of the new excavations. But the man was very funny. And that, my friends, is the key. SCRUBS provides always funny, even after seven seasons.
"My Last Words", as opposed to "My Jerks" was not as funny. The dark theme death is taken from the front. In fact, death plays an important role in this episode that the Turk (Donald Faison) and JD even skip the long tradition of the annual meat night "to his place to spend the night talking to George Valentine (Glynn Turman), a man who has only hours to live. The jokes are still there, but it is not common. Those who remain, however, are brilliantly funny and touching at once.
Unlike many other comedies on the air, Scrubs has the ability to find humor in even the worst of the subjects. A man is dying, however, the journey of his acceptance of death through multiple stages. Somehow, after all made and ideas are verbalized epitome, Scrubs is a laugh. And after all the emotions that go through during "My last words," you feel and that laughter is well deserved. I never thought that a flare launched into the night sky could make me run the entire gamut of emotions from sadness to sadness to joy (Go watch the episode and you'll understand what I'm talking about).
Yeah, Scrubs is back, possibly his last season, although that is still be determined. Braff is safe come the end of the season. There are many changes in store for Scrubs this year, but judging by these prime ministers, I would not be too worried. SCRUBS seems stays true to form: a hybrid of comedy and drama that has made the show the success it is.
The eighth season is replacing Dr. Kelso, Dr. Taylor Maddox (Courtney Cox-Arquette), arrive and quickly made a lot of changes, which affect doctors treat patients. JD and Elliot finally discuss their true feelings for each other, and Janitor and Lady (Kit Pongetti) marry, while Dr. Cox was promoted to chief of medicine. JD prepares to leave the Sacred Heart of approach to his son, along with Elliot. Turco is also used to chief of surgery at Sacred Heart.
Coinciding with the eighth season, Scrubs: Interns was also launched, centering around internal medicine at the eighth season, Sunny Day (personal Shah), Denise (Eliza Coupe), Katie (Betsy Beutler), and Howie Bosley (Todd). Inmates learn about various characters in the series about life in the hospital.
The ninth season will be out an unknown length of time after the eighth and final season to see Dr. Cox and Dr. Turk become teachers of the School of Medicine, whose students will occasionally tour through the Sacred Heart. On the other hand, end up being married to Elliot and JD will be pregnant during the season are also known to leave Ted Buckland the series during the season as actor Sam Lloyd has decided to continue. The ninth season will begin airing on December 1, 2009.
Production
The origin of the show is loosely based on Dr. Jonathan Doris experiences as a resident in internal medicine at Brown Medical School, which served as inspiration for college friend and creator Bill Lawrence.
Scrubs is produced by ABC, through its production division, although it was broadcast on rival network NBC. By show runner Lawrence, the arrangement is unusual, at least for 2007: "The show is a dinosaur in a network and completely owned by another" and, for now is in syndication, making it a lot "of money for Touchstone." Both he and Braff confirmed ABC have broadcast the seventh season NBC had refused to do so.
From Scrubs which airs worldwide in many different languages, instances of foreign languages in the program must be changed to International versions. Carla's Spanish is changed to Italian in the Spanish version of the series, and Elliot is changed to Danish German (or at least a quarter season episode Swiss German accent) in the German version of the series.
The chest radiograph at the end of the title sequence was hanging upside down most of the first five seasons. Bill Lawrence has stated that the X-ray backwards was intentional as it meant that the new internal were inexperienced. But during Zach Braff audio commentary on "my last chance," says the error was actually unintentional. There was no error celebration and was even parodied in "My col.
It has tried to correct the error in the extended title sequence that was used at the beginning of season 2, but the extended sequence (including corrected X-ray) were soon scrapped in range and network of petition. Finally, in "My urologist, Dr. Kim Briggs enters in the credits and switches X-ray around, saying, "That's backwards, but that's been bothering me for years." At the start of the season 8, when the series moved to ABC, the chest radiograph was again reversed.
Crew Chief
The show's creator, producer executive and principal writer is Bill Lawrence. He has written many episodes and directed 17. He is also the show runner and does a lot uncredited rewrites for the episodes. Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan have produced and written a number of episodes together, starting as writers and co-producers on the program and work your way up the executive producers, but left the program after the eighth season. [13] Bill Callahan is an executive producer and writer who began the show in season 4 as co-executive producer and has since written eight episodes. Angela Nissel joined the crew in season 2 as a writer and became the supervising producer in 2007, has written 10 episodes. In his second book, Bill Lawrence is quoted on the back and references to Scrubs are present throughout the final chapter. Mike Schwartz is co-executive producer began as a story editor in 2006. He has written 13 episodes and also has a recurring role on the series as the delivery Guy Lloyd. Michael Spiller has directed 17 episodes from 2002 to 2009. The pilot episode of the series, "My First Day" was directed by Adam Bernstein, who has since directed 11 episodes of others. Series star Zach Braff has directed Seven episodes of the series, including the one hundredth historical episode "My Way Home", which won a George Foster Peabody Award in April 2007. In 2009 Josh Bycel, a writer and supervising producer for the cartoon American Dad, joined the crew, a new executive producer of the ninth season.
medical advisors
Scrubs writers work with several medical advisors, including doctors Jonathan Doris, Jon Turk, and Dolly Klock. Their names serve as the basis for the names of characters John Dorian, Chris Turk and Molly Clock (played by Braff, Faison and Heather Graham, respectively). In the season eight finale of "My Finale," the JD "real" Jonathan Doris did a cameo as the doctor who said "goodbye" to the JD.
Filming location
Main article: Sacred Heart Hospital
Scrubs is filmed on location in North Hollywood Medical Center, a real hospital out of 12 629 located on Riverside Drive in the neighborhood of North Hollywood Los Angeles, California, however, the location of the Sacred Heart Hospital in the fictional world of Scrubs is left ambiguous. Cast and crew in the program refer to the location "San DiFrangeles", a portmanteau of San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles that is meant to cover a large part of California. For the ninth season Scrubs, the show will be filmed at Culver Studios.
Writers strike and network exchange
On November 5th, 2007, the Writers' Guild of America declared on strike, which put the production of the seventh season of waiting. When the strike began, only eleven of the eighteen Scrubs' seventh episodes planned season had been completely written. Lawrence refused to cross picket lines WGA to serve any of his duties for the show, so ABC Studios had non-WGA Finish Episode twelve members, the study had lobbied unsuccessfully to rewrite Lawrence as a final series before the strike.
During the strike, NBC announced that Scrubs Office and be replaced by Celebrity Apprentice. NBC later announced it would stop Scrubs on hold for now, and fill the time interval 8-9 pm with various specials and repeats.
Episode 11, "My Princess, was filmed over time, [18] although Lawrence was absent. Filming of episode 11 was disrupted by protesters. It was believed that Lawrence had tipped the picketers off about the shooting schedule, Despite these beliefs proved to be false as Lawrence quickly drove to the set to "keep the peace." [18] After the strike ended, Lorenzo announced the latest episodes of Scrubs would occur while, at the time, was not sure where or how to distribute [19].
Eighth season on ABC
In the midst of the strike-induced doubt involving the final episodes of Scrubs, on February 28, 2008, The Hollywood Reporter reported that ABC was in talks with ABC Studios generation businesses with the aim of bringing ABC Scrubs for eighth season of 18 episodes, [20] despite both Lawrence and Braff's protests that the seventh season would definitely be the last. [18] Just hours later, Variety reported that NBC lashing out and threatening to take legal action against ABC Studios. Without However, McGinley confirmed that he was told to report to work on March 24, 2008 to begin production for another season. On March 12, 2008, McGinley also was quoted as saying that long-rumored move from NBC to ABC was a fact, and it would be Scrubs air on ABC during the 2008-09 television season as a replacement half season.
On March 19, 2008, Michael Ausiello of TV Guide reported that although there was nothing "official" Scrubs cast was to return to work the following Wednesday for work in one season, "unofficial" at this time. Zach Braff posted on his MySpace blog, the April 28, 2008, that an eighth season consisting of 18 episodes was dedicated to the production, but could not say where it will air. Then, said on May 7, 2008, that the episode May 8 would be the last episode aired on NBC's "Scrubs, which was followed by a bulletin on their MySpace, on May 12, confirming that Scrubs' eighth season 'Will move to ABC.
On May 13, ABC announced that Scrubs would be a midseason replacement, airing Tuesday night at 9PM ET. Steve McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment, also stated that additional seasons of Scrubs beyond the eighth could be produced if it performs well. In late November, ABC announced that Scrubs episodes resumed with back-to-back "on January 6, 2009 at 9 pm EST.
Creator Bill Lawrence said in an interview video that season 8 will be more like the early seasons in tone, with more of a focus on more realistic and dramatic stories and the introduction of new characters. Courteney Cox joined the cast as the new Chief of Medicine, Dr. Maddox, three-episode arc. The eighth season includes webisodes and the first season broadcast Scrubs in high definition.
Sarah Chalke hoped that JD and Elliot end up together again, comparing with the Friends characters Ross and Rachel, who has dealt with a couple times in the show. In the early episodes of the season they did rekindle their relationship, and have continued coming to the end of the season. Several actors who guest stars, as patients at Sacred Heart during the course of Scrubs returned for the final.
Cinematography
The show is shot with a configuration of a single camera instead of a multi-camera setup more typical for situation comedies. Episode 4.17 "My life in four cameras," has a short multi-camera style, and that includes JD fantasies of life is more like a traditional sitcom.
John Inwood, Director photograph of the series, shot with his own Aaton XTR Super16 film camera products. Except for the end of the season in May, "My Transition", which was in high definition, the first seven seasons of the series have been broadcast in standard definition 4:3 aspect ratio frame.
After the show was moved from NBC to ABC, the format for the dissemination of new episodes switched to high definition. John Inwood believes that the greatest episodes will be re-released in high definition as well. Protected 16:9 aspect ratio from the beginning episodes could be aired in HD format as the market evolved. In his view, Super16 camera images was not only enough air in high definition format, it seemed incredible.
Music
Music plays a large role on Scrubs. A wide variety of rock, pop, indie and artists are displayed, and almost every episode ends with a musical montage summarizing the themes and plot lines of the episode, and the music of these montages is often even before the episodes are completely written.
Members of the cast and crew are encouraged to contribute suggestions song, with many ideas coming from series creator Bill Lawrence, writer Neil Goldman, and actors Zach Braff (whose college friends Cary Brothers and Joshua Radin appear on the Scrubs soundtrack) and Christa Miller Lawrence (who selected Colin Hay and Tammany Hall in New York). According to Bill Lawrence, "Christa picks up much of the music for the show that many of the writers and actors do not even go to me more when they have a song. They hand her. "
In addition to music appears as a soundtrack for the show, the cast is also sung on a frequent basis, as in the episode "My Best Friend's Mistake" when the cast had the Erasure song "A Little Respect" stuck in your head and sing it several times. Producers Scrubs musical emphasis extended 'with a musical episode early in the sixth season, called "My Musical". This episode aired on January 18, 2007.
Theme song
The theme song series, performed by Lazlo Bane, is titled "Superman", and can be found on the album All the Time in the World, as well as in the first Scrubs soundtrack. Credits Lawrence Braff for finding and suggesting "Superman" theme. The song "I'm no Superman" relate to the theme of the demonstration of the fallibility of his characters.
The main title of Scrubs is done at a rate faster than the original recording of the song. The original, slower recording was used briefly at the beginning of Season 2, played in an extended version of the title sequence (which included Flynn and full credit cast), and the opening of "My Urologist" and a special edition of the title sequence for resulting in approximately 1.2 seconds of music followed by the line "I'm no Superman, accompanied by a quick flash of credits. The original introduction of season 1 was used in most Season 3 (except the few episodes with the introduction very short) and then used for the four seasons through eight. [Citation needed]
