Bike Wheel Skewers
What are some ideas to park my bicycle safely all day in an area higher than theft?
I ride my bicycle face to work in a busy part of town (Vancouver, BC). There is no place for it inside of work. What kind of options you can think of that could Use? There is none of outdoor bike lockers Translink in the area. Do not know any other store owners or have friends in this area that could come during the day. I could take the front wheel and the seat in front of me and to decrease its appeal and use a locking skewer set for shock and the rear wheel and the use of two strong, different types of locks blocked two different things, but I still feel uncomfortable doing this day after day. The bike I'm wanting to buy a bike is striking, new Kona mountain. I do not want a cheap bike just because of this. Could you think of other ideas? " Welcome creativity. Thank you.
Air, I think you're on the right track. You are looking at many of the issues I have over the years. "I can suggest you look at a liquor local grocery store and see what is going to rent a parking area in your store by the month .... then you lock your bike in storage area. Look around the area for a private residential area (garage, garage), see if you can "rent" a safe area there. Finally talk with other drivers to see what they do .... may have a safe place to share premises. Apart from that, we both know, is the best of a strong bet to save your bike from thieves. In the past I was able to find a location at work or at a location on another floor of the building. I would be hard to leave my bike unattended in a high risk area .... all combinations Ulock and cable lock, fixed to any heavy object solid, will not protect your bike from theft or damage. Since NO to all my ideas and I look mount an 'el cheapo' and from work and keep the good ride for the weekend. Just think what you'll be in good shape after riding a cheapo The 50 pounds to work week after week!
