Led Bike Head

Review of the BMW F800 St
No doubt about it, BMW is on a roll. Even from the thorough review and, later, best-selling R1200 GS was released In early 2004, the Bavarian powerhouse of innovation has been pumping out great new models one after another - and in quick succession too.
The R1200 RT, R1200 R, the new K-series rockets, and now this - a double parallel of all things - the F800, released in the latter part of last year S and ST costumes. Production a completely new machine with a brand new engine is going out on a limb to say the least, but with the F800s is evident as soon as you have traveled outside the street BMW has certainly done their homework.
As a motorcycle journalist who is lucky enough to sample a large number of machines each year, it is easy to fall into the trap of having disgusted by another "latest and greatest ', but I found the F800 ST to be one of those special cases - one of which begin to look more critically that the bank balance and think, "I really do not mind having one of these ...'. It is clear that their choice of bike is a very personal thing, but not I just like riding the F800 ST, I loved it. Why? Well, let me tell you - but first let's look at what distinguishes the F800 ST S.
Basically, ST is a Sports Tourer and S is the sportiest version of the same bike. The S has clip-ons, the ST does not. The ST also has a screen slightly taller, a little care to another location ride of your 'bars, different alloy wheels, body weight of 5 kg more and more - and that's it. Both share the same alloy frame - When the engine is used as a stressed member - the engine itself.
Now, back to the F800 ST, and why does my bank account by shifting its weight nervously from foot to foot, and looking a little nervous. In a nutshell, is simply a delight to ride. It is light, agile and relatively agile. It is comfortable, with a promenade position you can live all day. It's fun, with a claw motor, lots of zing and excellent brakes. And it is - in my opinion - beautiful, distinctive finish BMW first class from top to bottom.
The new parallel twin engine is a winner. At first you have to be careful not to be placed at low revs - Fitted with a steering wheel light enough - but once your head in all this is a real scream to go 'Whoa'. It has a rough, vibey feel to it, but not annoying or unrefined, just gives it character, while the engine format provides plenty of usable torque in the city. There are still enough out to tap though for some serious fun in sports, and we will happily rev to its 8500rpm red line in most of its six gears - if you are on the levers upper gearbox that you'll be seeing some very fast speeds as well.
In fact, this gearbox is one of the few things that do not impress completely. Although effective, light and responsive while you are moving, in the course of Start / Stop is a little awkward, especially when you're engaging first - Which is rather a feature of BMW. The clutch is clunky too - at low speed can hear the rhythm that coupling and uncoupling while pulling or releasing the lever. None of these points has no effect on your driving pleasure, but they are things you will notice, however.
The suspension, so I look for in a bicycle was incredible. In fact, it is relatively basic, not being controlled at the front, but with preload and rebound adjustment on the back (both through easy using wheels), and together this package offers a wonderfully compliant ride yet responsive. Harden things up a bit on the back for a good sprint charge is on the agenda, and revel in how well it absorbs shock and has a line through a corner.
With a four-piston, dual-drive configuration on the front you'll find the brakes are well up to stop the F800, and there is certainly nothing to complain about here when it comes to power and feel. The brake back is very strong too, which is good if you spend most of their time on a public road, rather than a race track.
The fuel remains down under the seat, therefore filling the top post, while only has a capacity of 16lt, the F800 is an animal frugal, averaging around 18 to 20km/lt - With a radius of over 250km.
As expected, BMW has been a real smorgasbord of other options and accessories that can slug their bank balance, including side bags, trunk bag, ABS, GPS, heated grips, trip computer, central support, or white LEDs, alarm - the list goes on.
BMW has developed admirably the depth of its model range again with the addition of the F800. The company obviously is not afraid to think outside the box, and more often in recent years to reach the bull's-eye hit on, in the field where the party never even knew there was a target. With the F800 ST is made anew, and $ 15,000 plus ORC is an absolute winner!
