Would this be a good rod to start?

I can not say that a team is good or bad. For me, it all depends if you are just beginning and will stick with it. Do you have a Bass Pro Shop or a cabal your area you could have the rod and check out the action, or know someone who has this bar could prove it. It was sort of hit and miss in front of me I spent a lot of money in the bars and the like some of the cheaper than more expensive. I'd say buy it if it feels good, do not buy it because someone say that it is an OK rod and reel. Good Luck Fishing
