Mountain Bike Tours Thailand - Bangkok to Three Pagodas Pass

Bangkok to Kanchanaburi and the Three Pagodas Pass

This is a five route Kanchanaburi day through the beautiful province of central Thailand, famous for its bridge over the River Kwai and the cliff of death hold on the railway between other natural attractions of great beauty.

There are two ways to reach the province of Kanchanaburi to Bangkok, the first is the easiest and that is by train from the Thonburi train station just across the river from Khaosan Road. The second one hell ride 130 km along the main road outside Bangkok to Kanchanaburi. A 130 km or 80 miles Ride in most countries is a piece of cake, but in Thailand with the heat and careless drivers who usually use the shoulder to carry out can be too much for one day.

Getting to the Thonburi train station

That comes from Khaosan Road on Cross Chao Phraya River in the Pinklao Bridge turn left at the first major intersection Arun Amarin Road and then cross the river again at the Arun Amarin Bridge. Take your first turn left (in fact still on the bridge) then follow the road left u-turn under the bridge and the railway station is on the right.

Putting Bikes on the Train

The train from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi is 100 baht 100 baht and one for your bike. Your bike can be put in the car on duty, but if there is no transportation to protect your bike gets a seat of your own! On one occasion we had to put our bikes through an open window with the help of the guards, because there was no guard and transport the bikes were too long to get through the doors.

Kanchanaburi City

Kanchanaburi Sai Yok

The second day begins with a beautiful sweep out towards Kanchanaburi Sai Yok. The road itself is very nice and a number of places to stop and eat on the road. As we go to the countryside landscape of rocky hills (or mountains as the locals like to call them) are raised in both sides of the road, but as the highway 60 km from Sai Yok remains relatively flat compared to the surrounding landscape, is a very fun and enjoyable ride. Accommodation in the Sai Yok Sai Yok Noi is cheap and waterfall is a great place for fun and cool, but if you're not having fun for now this is where the train stops so you can always go back in train.

Sai Yok Thong Pha Phum District to

The third leg of the trip is becoming a little more difficult and is a pleasant climate for what lies ahead is a steep ascent to climb anything was too punishment. Make sure you start with water and fill everywhere as the hills immediately hit Pha Phum belt leaving the town and go up to mercilessly Sangkhlaburi. Zig zag does not help in these promotions, but the impressive landscape has his mind endured the hard climbs on the way and how to get to Sangkhlaburi pride comes into play as they are filled with incredible feeling to overcome what was the hardest part of this route.

Buri to Three Pagodas Pass Sangkhla

Note

In the hottest part of the year this route can be torture, especially in April and May. It is a difficult journey for intermediate riders, but can be easily tolerated by most in the colder months of November to January.
