Take the road trip of your dreams in business tourism tax deductible: Seven Offbeat Ideas
Are you willing to travel very far or stay away too long? Drastically reduce the impact of costs by having a legitimate business purpose of your trip and deducting the travel expenses from their taxes. Consult your own tax advisor first, of course, before you go, and consider these seven offbeat ideas.
1. Conferences and trade fairs. The Business owners rarely attend enough of these modes in order to keep up with what's happening in their industry, see what competitors are doing, put your company's goods on the screen, or sit in educational offerings. All the above are legitimate business activities, why not chain a long series of these in places you've always been longing to go?
2. Scout business relocation sites. If you've ever had the idea that maybe the grass was greener elsewhere, create a journey to explore their higher possibilities. Make an appointment with the Chamber of Commerce or a Small Business Development Center in each city or area you're on tour, and keep notes about pros and the cons of each location for their business during their adventure.
3. Subscriber meetings. If you publish a newsletter mail with a considerable list, announces its schedule a month or two in advance and ask if anyone on the route would be willing to host a subscriber schmooze session. Offer to bring refreshments for the meeting and welcomed the plan to give an appropriate gift. Then announce the scheduled meetings in your ezine two or three weeks before they occur. You do not need any particular program or program - a "meet and greet" works well and serves the purpose of developing business.
4. Blog. Create a blog and write about their views on the businesses along Route journey in a way that would be attractive to potential customers. O Blog related to a hobby for a long time, whether that's minigolf, climbing mountains or regional cuisine. When configured as a blog to earn commissions Google Adsense for those who click on ads displayed next to your blog, the journey that counts instrumental content of the blogs as a business enterprise.
5. State of the industry report. Research your industry by setting up interviews or other fact-finding activities along the tour route, taking notes and photos of their findings. Then when you get home, create a state of the industry report of what you've learned and either sold or given to key customers and prospects.
6. Podcast interviews. Through audio and video interviews, the record with industry leaders who happen to live in the areas where you are eager to visit. When you return home, turn your interviews into a product for sale or have something to offer with regard to lead generation efforts.
7. Wacky guide. The People have issued guidelines for factory tours, classic diners, golf resorts, birdwatching or skinny dipping places, pubs, castles, indoor pools , and more. Think of a topic that suits your travel notes to get the guide during the trip. Create a Web page from which you sell the guide when you arrive home and voila, your trip was a business trip.
In one of his publications, the IRS said: "Count as a business day any day your presence necessary in a particular place for a specific business purpose. Counts as a business day, even if you spend most of day on non-market activities. "In Nowhere is it written that a good time making it disqualifies count as a business!
