What are the easiest to release the boot-less Mountain bike pedals?

I have ridden Dura-Ace on my road for a few years and have no problem. Mountain bike 6 months and I'm ready for clipless pedals. Shimano SPD tried and can not just leave them. There are scratches, as I cut the bottom w / knife to make sure, and everything works as supposed to, only the angle is much more for free. He has fallen several times, and in forests of West Virginia is not healthy. Is there anything that releases easier? Someone said the egg beaters, but the Crank Bros website says 15 to 20 degrees as well.

The eggbeaters would be my choice. You can get up to about 8 degrees of freedom. Sounds like the pedals are a bit out of adjustment, spring pressures are too great. If you are unsure about how to adjust the tension of seeing your local store.
