Triathlon Training Fit - When in Rome.

Triathlon is one of the best things that ever happened to cycling. Many people who were runners and swimmers, or just people who want to challenge themselves in a race against the clock, have taken up swimming, biking, Run phenomenon. I think it is super as it provides a different type of person on bicycle. There is much to learn, however, and have always been adding to my bank triathlon "of information.

When cyclists break into triathlons, and cycling are good and running is relatively easy to learn. I remember when I was a full-time Category 2 races Bicycle in Dallas, I found a "Night" group of runners at White Rock Lake in Dallas seemed to be having a great time running and then go to a place after drinking beer and eating. I did some races of 10 km and found it very easy to get to a pace of 6:15, but as luck would have, I returned to my bad ankle and my running career was over. Also damage to my bike and I remembered this when I began to see people try to triathlon in the 80s.

I see many people who are triathletes and a trend has developed, at least in my view. I feel that the triathletes will spend enormous amounts of time in the pool learning to swim a perfect motion. They do intervals, speed work, and to emulate the fast swimmers that can win a swimming race. In addition, the runners are Fast. I've heard all kinds of organized training run, hill intervals, fartlek, speed work, training track, name it. Here is the Problem: I have also heard many of these people "get right in your triathlon bike and riding." This does not compute to me!

In many previous articles I have drawn much one has to learn to ride a bicycle properly. I think this fear of the unknown combined with poor anecdotal urban myths ("I proposed a group trip, because I can not in a draft triathlon, etc.) makes the triathletes to suffer on the bike and then the race. This in mind, two things I ask triathletes to think while working on your bike segment, Installation and Training.

Since talk of setting a lot, You can get this off the road. I think the best and most aerodynamic position on a tri bike is one that is efficient enough to generate loads of power, balanced enough to avoid muscle imbalances that can cause premature fatigue and quite comfortable (read loud enough!) to allow you to stay aerobars in the event. I can not stress this last part. If the bike is set up so you have to sit and rest during the triathlon, then you will pay a huge time penalty. My process of adaptation is concerned with this and I can answer direct questions from you regarding this part of the program.

The focus of this article is: "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Translated bikespeak triathlon, this means that if you swim with the fastest swimmers and run with faster runners, you need to learn to ride with the fast bike riders. I know this is so easy to say and so hard to do, so I'm mentioned. Most people waste time on the bike than anything else, followed closely by losing time in the race because the bike leg was a disaster. The final thoughts centric processes also contributes here, indicating that if the bike is too imposing, the race has been burned, so take it easy in the bike leg.

My thinking is, the people ending up in the front of the age groups in general are not taking it easy on the bike. They train and bike riders on the bike, as do swimming and running. Here is how you can do:

1) A road bike group rides. Tri bikes are inherently designed to be mounted on a timed race not in the packages. You need the speed work and the intensity of group road rides, especially with people who are better than you. Get a good road bike and learn the tricks of the road cyclists. This subtlety and experience of transfer back to the triathlon. It is easy to learn to walk with the bike riders, but well worth it.

2) You must travel in a straight line in a triathlon. This is the shortest distance between two points. You learn to travel in a straight line on a squad that is close to other drivers and the best of the bunch, closer than they have to go together. You finally learn to relax and travel with grace and without problems.

3) intervals. Hill intervals, speed intervals, and long-short intervals. You already do in swimming and running, just do the same on the bike.

4) When riding in groups, get used to going fast. Once you are used to 30 miles per hour, maintaining 25 mph in the triathlon bike does not seem so bad.

5) Push your limits in the days of hard training. By doing intervals or take a hard group ride, exceed their expectations. You may suffer. You can get dropped. This kind of conditioning makes you feel better. The logic is to train so hard that two things happen. First, when you recover, get stronger. Second, the training is so difficult that the race is easier.

6) Get a coach. A good coach will make a big difference in your progress. You need to be responsible and the coach can help you avoid overtraining. You may need more input from a coach can give. If his coach is weak in swimming, for example, you may need a separate bathroom coach to work in tandem with his head coach. All right. Nobody knows everything about everything. No running or swimming coach, but focus strictly on the bike. You need the help of experts from three disciplines.

At the end of the day obtaining a position on the bike and learning to ride better in both the road bike and triathlon bike, this is not only important, but a realistic way to cut huge chunks of time for their events. Nobody said the triathlon was easy, but for many people are finding the benefits to be worth it. Stay focused!
