Touring Road Bike

I will be participating in the year of the Acura LA Bike Tour this next month and will use a MTB. Some people think I'm crazy to use one in this event, but it is the only bike I have. Are you all right? What is the difference if any, with the use of a MTB vs a road bike on an occasional road like this?
This is a charity ride occasionally, the idea is fun. Of course there are some who take themselves too seriously, but the hay once they have disappeared in the distance you will not have to worry about them. Usually, only I tell people how good they are anyway. I love charity rides, usually without uniform (shirt and a set of Boardies on the Knicks) and find for I can crappiest looking bike in my hands. The response I received from the unfit, middle-aged, bling encrusted corridors while sailing past is priceless. Yes this one mtb Alternatively, you can be a little heavier but you have the gear to pull it up a hill you can find. The bike weight makes little difference too flat or downhill. Pump your tires to maximum recommended pressure (changes only if there is damaged). Have fun and do not forget to talk to as many people as possible. I bet your not the only one in a mountain bike
